The Ben

We drove up through Glenfinnan and stopped at a friend's house for delicious coffee and scones - hard to say which is the best view from someone's window, this (that's Ben Nevis in the centre) or the Kyles of Bute from L & J's a couple of days ago.

Then on for a loop round via Glenuig, Salen, Strontian and back via the Connan ferry. The ancient oakwoods were looking glorious. We stopped a couple of times and sat on the rocky shoreline, D hoping very much to glimpse an otter (see extra), but it was not to be this time.

Back to the tent for a primitive salad, then a couple of pints in the bar, after which we slept like logs.
