Wanderings and meanders

Swan reflection

Riccarton campus

The swan sidled up from the loch and across to the shiny windows where it spent some time checking out the swan reflected back, as well as side-eyeing me.  It was quite calm, but we still didn't fancy getting between it and its route back to the water, especially as there were cygnets about and other swans also near the path.  So we doubled back, which took us back past the cute cygnets and through the rhododendrons to reach the lawn.

I hadn't noticed before that there is a wollemi pine within the arboretum collection.  Perhaps I just hadn't appreciated its significance prior to my trip to Logan Botanic Gardens back in April.
