Balancing
Luca was with us today, as we'll be away this Friday (our usual Luca day). The rain finally eased off during the morning, and we went across to the park with his balance bike.
Luca is very proud of his progress - and the park has a basketball court that's ideal territory for practising. There was another little boy there with his mum, and with a tricycle; after some cautious mutual inspections, the two boys enjoyed belting around the court together for a bit. They also enjoyed throwing a ball for a very cooperative dog who arrived with his human, and proved to be entirely child-friendly. Good times.
As I write, the news has just come in that our serial-liar prime minister has survived tonight's confidence vote. However, his tally of supporting votes is lower than his predecessor Theresa May received, and she eventually resigned 6 months afterwards.
I am sorry that he has survived, given his appalling dishonesty, and his ruthless attempts to rewrite any rules in his own favour (or just to ignore them). On the other hand, the result probably offers opposition parties an opportunity to keep gaining ground - providing they're up to making use of it...
