The Tribe
Roam picked me up this morning for a drive out to the Lakes with Shenny and Whiskey, to meet up with Forrest at Pooley Bridge. He'd been camping over at Borrowdale since Wednesday evening, having travelled up for the Blencathra Fell Race. The traffic wasn't too bad and our timing was such that we both pulled into the car park at the same time.
After coffee and cake, during which we avoided a heavy shower of rain, we took a walk over the tops to Howtown and back via a lower level route for a welcome beer and some food. Forrest and I enjoyed the novel concept of Tofish, chips and mushy peas!
Our tops weren't very high today but the views from this corner of the Lakes, over Ullswater, are worthy of much higher peaks. There was lots of water for Whiskey to find and bathe in, most of it running fast and clear as opposed to black and stagnant. There's been a lot more rain here than back home.
