Magic Medicine!
No, I didn't get a single, minuscule wink of sleep last night, mostly due to selfish noisy night staff, but partly due to bleeps, buzzes, whistles, plastic beds, painful cannula sight and feeling like poo poo!!!
The day staff however have been faultless but I think a little weary of me now they have found out I used to work here and complained about the night staff!!!!
I'm in a 6 bedded ward, the youngest patient after me is 67 who has stopped looking at me since I complained about the night staff, 3 are sadly erm.....how do I put this kindly......ready for the pearly gates, and Pam over in the corner has dementia and is hilarious!! She has kept me and the staff amused all day!!!!
As for me, I feel so much better today. Thank god!!! Was seen by the Consultant who said definitely pneumonia and have been joking with Daughter Number 1 who came to visit about just old people getting pneumonia!!!! No, I'm not old!! Anyway, consultant said I could go home 24 hours after my temperature goes down!! As I had been feeling better all day I thought it had......but no! Still 38.7 at tea time so looks like I'm here another day!!!! Still attached to a drip but loving having my tea bought to me several times a day!!
Lovely visit from Mr W, daughter number 1 and son number 3 which might not sound too special, but Mr W and son have not spoken for 4 years since I met Mr W, but today they were both able to be gentlemen for ME. It truly was a very special moment. It still needs work but I'm not going to deal with that myself just yet.
The night staff have just arrived, thankfully not the same as last nights lot and machines have just been removed for one of the 3 ( not a good sign) bless her.
Sorry for the ramble, wanted to add some humour but think I'm just exhausted!!!!
Fresh update tomorrow!
Night night
xXx
