Taken by surprise

On my way home after work, I stopped at Western Springs Lake for a walk with the camera. The lake is now very full (after all the rain recently), and much of the algal bloom has gone.

At the north-eastern end of the lake there is a small promontory, from which I have often been able to get a good bird photo. And so it proved again today.
