On the Beach

So, how does one celebrate World Oceans Day at the south end of Shetland?

Firstly one checks up on the auks at Sumburgh Head (see extra for auks of the day) - noting that the chap who built the Sumburgh Head Lighthouse (Robert Stevenson) would have been 250 today.

Then you search for orchids on Compass Head - heath-spotted (see the other extra).

And finally you go for a wander on Quendale Beach...
