Hobbs's Run

Blue Mountains

My walk took me down toward the Three Sisters today. This image shot from the track, halfway down, put me in mind of how really BLUE the landscape can get around here.

In reality the "Blue Mountains National Park", which can be seen from here, is a network of ridges and valleys, all bathed in eucalyptus emissions which refract the light so fetchingly. The "City of the Blue Mountains", itself, is actually a single, narrow, east/west ridge dotted with villages all linked by the Great Western Highway, Sydney's chief escape into the state's interior.
