An oldie

But a goodie!  It's his birthday today (I was referring to the picture, not his age!). 

We've delayed the 'official' day to tomorrow, as it's far nicer to celebrate on a Friday than Thursday when there are after school clubs, and he's been very hard at work today. 

I've been trying to finish the latest bit of the dissertation - it's nearly there.  Interuppted today with baking a birthday cake for the husband and making a cake for beavers this evening (the eldest was supposed to do it, but as I haven't been at home for two evenings, he couldn't do it).  The cupcakes we'd decided to do would have worked, if I'd remembered to include the sugar, so I went for oh so easy brownies.  The eldest decorated them when he came home, and when we got to beavers, we realised that we had made a pretty poor effort and I'd suggest that for many, there was a lot more parent input than maybe intended by the organisers. Somewhat demoralising for the eldest, which was sad. 

Today I'm grateful for:
