Best day of the year in London

I really think that the London marathon is one of the best days of the year. The combination of people pushing themselves to their own personal limits, the fundraising and the hugely personal reasons which drive people to complete 26.2 miles, is really inspiring.

Added to that there is just an amazing atmosphere in London which is great to be a part of whether running or watching. It is just so refreshing, seeing everyone being so nice to one another. And I know as a runner, how much this motivates you as you make your way round.

Which is why the events in Boston on Monday where so upsetting and why it was right that London should pay its own tribute. Therefore, although I could have posted photo's of runners in various forms of fancy dress, this year, it seemed appropriate to focus on the black ribbon. The mark of respect to the Boston victims.
