Back to the Island

So here we are coming back 2 days later.   In Seattle not even 48 hours.   All was well until we got to the road to the marina and were stopped…a first!  . A gravel barge was tied to the public dock next to the marina where our boat is….unloading gravel onto trucks… all day and now at 5:15 on a Friday (!)  and we had to park a long way away.  ( by the mail boxes for you who know) .  And only carry what was possible…our backpacks and the cold food …and the coffee…….  Of course now it’s also starting to rain…. And we have the little open boat.   That had to be bailed . ( it’s kind of a bookend to 2 days ago )    But it’s not raining hard and there’s no wind.    Not sure when they will be done so we can go move the car and unpack the rest.   Having some wine and cheese and crackers.   It would have been more of an island adventure 30 years ago!    :-).    But I’m still breathing….and glad to be here now.   Let’s hope for awhile longer this time.
