Pipe Stone Canyon

I will put a few of the actual canyon in the extras.   This is a shot of Joe and I walking towards the canyon again after walking a mile or so into the valley.   We were met by a few rattlers and thankfully they were off the trail but next to it.  We stood still and they rattled away before slithering away.  DO NOT go running through the flowers and tall grass you see in this photo.   We stayed on the trail and didn't have any problems.  I did learn what a rattler sounds like.   If you hear something that sounds similar to a Cicadas ....   that would be your neighborly unfriendly rattler. 
  We had a great hike and it was pretty easy walking and gorgeous views!   thanks for stopping by and will get to journals when I get home.
