Redcurrant

This might have been the first redcurrant, this might not, who knows?

I checked the soft fruit bushes yesterday and the birds have already stripped all the fruit, even the green ones! Except the gooseberries, which I suspect are too sour...

I didn't bother netting anything this year, apart from my potted blueberry bush as it's the first ever year it's produced fruit but it looks like I will have to next year... It's still a mystery why some allotments have redcurrants that are out in the open and completely untouched by birds and mine are tucked away and still get stripped!
