‘A good year for the roses…’

We took Mum to Mottisfont Abbey, a National Trust house with a famous garden of old fashioned roses. It was glorious, the weather was lovely, the roses were peak perfection with buds as well as flowers. All in all it was heady and beautiful. Mum kept bemoaning the fact she’s lost her sense of smell - pre Covid.

We then had an indifferent lunch and dropped in on a friend of Mum’s for coffee.
