A good walk

#2 daughter was having her first Monday off - she works 4 days a week with her new firm, but was doing the lecturing job on her day off. Now that’s done till next term, though she has signed up to do the immigration marking.

She arrived before Mr C got back from the dentist. We didn’t have time to do the Murder Cleugh walk as she had to leave at 3 as Thomas had a choir rehearsal. Instead we did 6.5 miles through the woods, round the moor and down to the Thropton Road, coming back via Physic Lonnen.

We are thinking of a change of plan for Mr C’s 80th next year. Instead of a very expensive house in the Lakes we are thinking of a much more expensive trip to Kenya. #2 daughter spent some years travelling inAfrica and would love to take the boys before too long. They are the perfect age for a truck and camping trip with all the animals. We’ll have to see. #3 daughter is keen too. I expect we’ll have to help out with the finances but there’s no pockets in a shroud I say.

Jenny and I are booking stuff up for the Edinburgh festival. We have pencilled in a few events at the book festival but who knows if we’ll can get tickets. We’re going to the Simon Rattle concert at the Usher Hall and Ian MacKellan as well. Both my daughters are going to join us one day.

I must thank you for your kind thoughtful response to my blip yesterday. What a lovely supportive group this is. I have not responded to the email. I think I should at some point but it’s taking a lot of processing.
