Celebrating the Jubilee

The long Jubilee weekend turned out to be a very busy one as I was helping with our coffee & cake morning on the Saturday and the Jubilee picnic in the Rectory garden on the Sunday. Sunday was very cold but at least we didn't get any rain until the evening when we were back indoors.

Memories came flooding back of when my aunts took me on the train from Southampton up to London for the Queen's coronation. I was a fairly small 11 year old and a friendly London bobby allowed me to sit on the kerb in Regent Street to watch the procession go past. My main memory is of the Queen of Tonga in an open coach in the pouring rain.

Backblipped on 13th June.
