Laburnum

I missed taking a photo of this tree last week, when it was looking much more impressive, but it’s still nice and bright on a greyish day.

Laburnum always makes me think of “My Cousin Rachel”. I can remember watching the film on TV when I was young (the 1952 version with Olivia de Havilland and Richard Burton), probably sometime in the sixties, and although I am a bit sketchy on the plot now I always remember that the possibility of poisoning by laburnum seeds was central to the story. I’ve just looked it up - I should read the book sometime.
