Where in the world

I went to sewing today. Didn’t feel brilliant but felt that the change of scenery and company might be beneficial. B drove me up to the Church Hall and carried my heavy sewing machine inside for me.

We had plenty of chat and catching up. I had a couple of shirt alterations to complete for S, then started on a new simple project.

This is for a teenager who is struggling following the return to school and the demands of social interaction. He is a very bright young man who loves geography and maps, so always spends his birthday money buying books.

We were are at the quilt show in Malvern recently and as soon as I saw this panel, I just had to buy it for him. Plus some fleece for the backing. He can use it to snuggle up in, when he’s sitting in his chair or spread out on his bed or the floor when he is planning expeditions.

Today I have used a temporary adhesive spray to hold the two surfaces together and then pinned it. Not sure how easy it will be to quilt it, a first attempt for me at using fleece.
