Gadafi
Today’s bajaj driver was called Gadafi. This is probably not the easiest name to waltz around with.
This morning was interesting and energising. I joined the launch event for a regional forest initiative that has been in the pipeline for a while. I am hoping my focal landscape can get involved with this initiative, which is all about restoration of degraded forest environments. The energy in the room was good as the organisers had invited a group to perform music and dance, which they did in front of a lectern and panel of assembled dignitaries to the left of the picture.
Various colleagues from across Africa and some further flung offices had arrived for the associated workshop. It was fun meeting them at the subsequent lunch. One woman and I realised we’d met in Indonesia in around 2010. How the world turns.
