Sunflowers and woolly hats
Annamaria and Nick are planting sunflowers. They’ve been in pots for too long and have gone incredibly leggy. Sticks are needed to keep them upright in the forthright summer breeze. I’m weeding carrots and sowing replacements in the gaps.
Later, Nick fixes the laying box on the hen house. He staples on weldmesh to keep our rats (and other vermin). Tomorrow I might even let the hens in to reeducate them about the correct location to lay eggs.
Owen arrives after tea. He brings some Jamaican rum that he impulse bought at Aldi.
