At Queens

Today I went to Queens for the tennis tournament. This year it is sponsored by Cinch, as are the Test matches. The blip is the ‘wrap’ around the outside of the centre court which is a temporary structure built each year. It was very very hot there today and we were glad we did not have centre court tickets as it is totally exposed with no shade at all. We had ground tickets which means you can see matches on Court 1 which has unreserved tiered  seating and also another court plus wander round and see lots of payers practising. There are also two big screens where you can see the action on Centre Court, and watch from seating in the shade!

Interesting to see the big named winners from the past. Many of the high seeded players do not play this tournament any more but used to as preparation for Wimbledon. We won’t be seeing Boris Becker ( winner several times) commentating on British TV this year!
