Street Mural#2

A while back (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2972900614498946129 ) I blipped one of the 4 new murals, commissioned by Street Parish Council, which adorn the wall near the old library.

Having passed them a few times today on my way  firstly to the dentist (2 fillings)and later the swimming pool (20 lengths), I thought I’d blip this one of hay making, set in mid-Victorian times.

The Clarks factory with the water tower and clock tower in the distance are still there today though those fields in the foreground are now the site of the Junior School and houses. The dentist and pool are now just the other side of those distant trees on the left.

The artwork is by local artist Jonathan Minshull.

Watched a bit of test match cricket this afternoon.
