Gates to Moria?

So on our adventure last night we visited the church at Stow on the Wold. These yew trees are ancient. The wooden doors were added in the 13th Century. It is thought that these trees and the wooden doors were the inspiration for ‘the gates to Moria’ in both the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien.
Today has been very hot and sunny. We were working near the greenway at Milcote looking at some onion seedlings. As it was really hot we had an ice cream at the railway carriage cafe.
The dogs are resting in the cool of the house. We went for a couple of walks across the fields today but didn’t go too far as it is too hot for them to be running around at the moment.
