Convent breakfast
It was good to have a relaxing morning and it started well with a sumptuous breakfast in what had been the Convent’s refectory. I had morsels of most that was on offer including churros with Nutella.
I was keen to experience the Spanish railways, having walked alongside several, so I bought a return ticket to Pontevedra and spent the day there. In fact I ended up walking a bit of the Portuguese Way, the Spanish bit obviously, and spoke to several pilgrims who had thoroughly enjoyed it and were on their last few days before Santiago.
I fell asleep on the train coming back and was woken up by conductor who told me I was in the wrong seat, (I already knew that) but it didn’t matter because the train was pretty much empty.
Ate early, had another swim and now I’m feeling pleasantly sleepy. I’ve just checked my watch and noticed I’ve walked almost 15k, in part because the train stations are no where near the city centres.
