Back to sea!!

Finally, after two years’ gap due to COVID, Seatruck have agreed to let the MarineLife surveys across the Irish Sea recommence.
Rob is in charge of organising the volunteer survey teams and he decided that we should do the first one in case there should be any hiccups.
So at 5am we began our survey! It turned into the best we have ever done, with perfect weather and sightings of eight Minke whales, many porpoises, dolphins, gannets and other seabirds.
Especially good was the reception we had from the ship’s crew though. They couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming and we felt really valued.
It was a very long day, being midsummer, but we had the added pleasure of an enormous Strawberry Moon to end the day.
It’s so good to be back!
