2022 Wednesday — Princess Jade

We have four great-grandchildren: Tristan, Jade, Emillia, and RJ. This week Jade graduated from Kindergarten. Jade has also just received an award for her reading ability.

All the attention given to completing kindergarten is something that did not happen when I was a little girl (years ago). I think these types of celebrations are wonderful. All the encouragement we can muster is helpful and necessary so these kids can catch the importance of getting an education, and especially that they learn how to read. Reading supports all the other school subjects.

I also recognize that education is a great privilege, and I realize that as a young person I lacked that perspective.
