WFH. We have been plotting and scheming and things are coming together now: after half a life-time in Scotland and Edinburgh we are going to move to Berlin in the summer. It's been a difficult decision and there are many reasons, the industrial unrest and Brexit do feature significantly. We have always been interested in living in Berlin as well and I am looking forward to living somewhat more in the middle of Europe. The kids are old enough no to make a move easier. In the end this was too good an opportunity to miss. I will be doing pretty much the same as here, looking after a compute cluster and the people using it. Instead of geo data I will be dealing with medical data at the Charité the university hospital in Berlin. I will miss Edinburgh, Scotland and all the people I have met and worked with. I have always felt very welcome and at home here.

For now, we are dealing with sorting out our flat and preparing the move to Germany. And, there is the German bureaucracy to deal with (brief and exacting).
