Little treasures

I stopped at the artificial island on my way to the sanctuary again this afternoon. The swan sat snoozing on her nest. One of the Great Crested Grebes kept swimming further and further away with, as far as I could see, only two grebelets on its back. A pair of Coots were feeding their young but I couldn't get a clear shot of those before I had to continue my ride.

Fortunately I had more luck getting a look inside the swan's nest on the way back which confirmed my calculations that none of her eggs should have hatched yet. This time I was also able to get a few better shots than earlier of another pair of Coots with their two chicks. I had hoped to have better chance as well of seeing how many babies the Great Crested Grebes had left but unfortunately I couldn't see them anywhere anymore.

It was not an easy choice but I eventually decided to blip this shot of one of the Coot parents with its two little treasures because I thought it looked a little better than that of the Grebe.

A very big thank you for the lovely comments and stars on my blue-eyed daisy blip from yesterday.
