Bernard and Jessie
Today's the day ..................... to forget
It's a well-known fact that as the years progress, the memory dims - and things that were once easy, become more of a problem.
Will had an entry in his diary for 9.00am today which simply read - 'Bernard and Jessie'. For the life of him, he had no recollection what this meant - or indeed who were the aforementioned Bernard and Jessie. He didn't know anyone of that name. He asked me if I knew who they were? But I wasn't any help because I didn't know any Bernards or Jessies either.
Anyway - 9.00am came and went Nothing happened and we both forgot all about it. Then, this afternoon we noticed one of those 'Sorry we missed you ....' cards that had been put through the door and round at the back door there was a parcel for Will. It was a CD by Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler, entitled 'For all our days that tear the heart'.
And that's when we remembered that we had seen them on the Jools Holland Show a few weeks ago - and really liked their music. Their new CD, written in Lockdown was going to be released and you could pre-order a copy to be sent by post. So that's what Will had done and noted it in the diary - but had then had completely forgotten all about it.
Oh dear ..........................!
