Fabulous Trish is 80

We went to Beadnell for Trish’s 80th birthday lunch. She and Kevin have come over from Ireland to celebrate with family and friends who live in the north east.

She gave us a lovely lunch, followed by singing and conversation. Sadly her son and family weren’t able to come as a teenage son had Covid, but I met daughter Ellie for the first time since she was a child. We last saw Trish and Kevin at our golden wedding 5 years ago - illness and lockdowns have interfered with plans. It was so lovely to catch up with them albeit too short. Hopefully they will be back in the autumn or maybe we’ll take the van to Galway next year.

Trish sang “Wor Geordie’s lost his Penka” unaccompanied. (Last time they came to stay it was The Internationale which might not have gone down too well in a hotel flying Union Jacks). We teased her that she wasn’t quite old enough to headline at Glastonbury - unlike Paul McCartney, as her actual date is next week.
