Malasana, Madrid

Another good day in Madrid. We wandered around the area of Malasana and enjoyed all the little streets and squares. We had a pizza lunch (best pizza I've had in a long time) on Plaza del Dos de Mayo. Nice to have a quick chat with our grand-niece, Katie. Wandered around the Mercado de los Mostenses, which is interesting in that you can find fresh food stalls and eating places with  Japanese food, Chinese food, products from different Latin American countries, to name just a few. This, in addition, to the usual array of Spanish food. 

We then rested in the cool of the hostal till it was time to get a taxi to Atoche train station. Far too hot to walk about for too long!  I'm posting this from the AVE fast train and it left a little late, so we won't be arriving in Barcelona till after midnight. Thankfully, we're just a short walk from Sants station.

It's been a great few days!
