Water
Friday was incredibly hot in London with temperatures around us reaching 33; there seemed to be nowhere to go to get cool, outside there was quite a breeze but it was a very hot one. All this meant that along with humans and animals suffering plants were also having a difficult time so we got up very early and went over to the allotment to give everything a good watering.
The watering on the allotment is all done with watering cans, no hose pipes are allowed as the water is free if no hoses are used (the alternative is to pay very expensive water rates). This is a heavy and laborious task but once done is good for a couple of days. The forecast said no rain for days but of course in the afternoon it did rain and a great thunder and lightening storm in the evening so there has now been a drop of 14° in temperature.
All back to normal now although there is a fine layer of Saharan sand over everything again.
