Winter Solstice

A beautiful sunny day for the shortest day of the year, 8 hours 48 minutes to be exact. 

This morning after a -3 degree frost, I walked down the hill to a local cafe.  I had a cuppa and scone with the church ladies.  6 there today.  I then walked along the lake into town.  

I took a number of photos, but like this one the best.  The mountain ranges in the background are 'The Buchanans'.  The extra is of the sunrise from my front deck.  The top temperature for today is +7C, which is what it is at present.  I have had the fire going all day, so am snug and warm.
