Fruit
We’ve moved on south to the Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps region, to a little town called Pelussin in the Cote Du Rhône wine area. There’s a definite change to a more Mediterranean type of feel with vines , and oleanders growing like weeds everywhere.
We came through a small town called Arinthod which had a lovely little market going on, only tiny with fruit and veg , cheese , bread , chicken , in fact everything we needed for today’s lunch. I love these colourful fruit stalls.
It seems that many cafes and restaurants are closed or on very restricted hours since covid. The cafe in the market square was open which was fortunate. But where we are now Pelussin seems to not have a bar at all in the whole place and it’s a reasonably sized town where you’d expect two or three .
Extra is a lovely shabby-chic, well maybe just shabby, window in Arinthod with some interesting lace panels.
