Raven maybe

I'm not sure I can distinguish between ravens and crows. Whichever this is, I photographed it today on the shores of the Swan River at Matilda Bay in Perth, Western Australia. I assume it's a male, because 'he' was taking it easy while 'his' partner (extra) was working hard to collect nesting material.

Later: many thanks fellow blippers for comments on my raven or crow conundrum.  Some googling led me to this excellent webpage by Sarah Way, a local zoologist and bird enthusiast. Based on her words, I’m calling it an Australian Raven. For those blippers who turn to Sarah’s article, I encourage you to continue reading to the last sentence, where she proposes a new collective noun for a group of ravens.
