"Beautiful Onyx"

...Today, we thought we'd go to one of our favorite and most interesting places -
The Gem Shop - well, it has another name, but that's what we call it and it's one of Australia's largest gemstone cutting and jewellery manufacturing complexes - and it's just up the road a bit as well, in another direction from the Dump.

... And it's free to enter, but ofcourse one is always tempted to buy something displayed, for the children and grandchildren...
Soon it shall be our daughter's 39th birthday and together with a beautiful Amber ring and saltwater pearls with diamenties, she will receive a red branch deep-water coral bracelet...Apparently red is very popular these days for dress jewellery...

...A bit of a contrast isn't it, from yesterday's blip at the Dump - but that's what I do - try to mix Waste - with Beauty...and one can find anything there...

...We can even have a nice meal there, in fact - we're going to celebrate Mothers' Day there for a sumptuous lunch - as advertised, as our family live far away...

... Well, it'll be something different, surrounded with beautiful nature from the ground which when exposed, plays between light and shadow and is made into something beautiful to either wear, or to look at...

ONYX: is mainly from Pakistan, and many items including jewellery, can be made from it as you can see above, displayed with many other beautiful rocks and minerals in the raw, or made up, in the Gem Shop...

... Onyx, a translucent variety of quartz, with layers of different colors, is typically green and white or black or brown and white...
