Nottingham Arboretum
Pretty proud of Mum and me for making it down to breakfast in the hotel this morning. We both slept surprisingly well last night, which helped. There is no way to get up quickly for Mum though, needing the hoist, etc - hence my pride! The hotel were great and extended the checkout time for us, so we were nicely unhurried after breakfast, too. We did manage to get out before midday though, and drove over to the Nottingham Arboretum for a little look around. It was hillier than we expected, so we didn't go too far into it, but it was very lovely.
Drove back to Somerset after that - a pretty good journey - only about three and a half hours. The threatened rail-strike-Glastonbury-goers traffic never materialised, thankfully.
We had a nice easy dinner of quiche and salad out in the garden before Mum's carer came to help her to bed. I was exhausted and went up quite early myself, too, ready for an epic sleep.
