Allean Forest
I headed over to the Allean Forest this morning with our local walking group while T was playing golf.
We started at the Foresty Commission Car Park just passed the Queen's View and made our way to the stone circle dwelling place and then onto the Standing Stones at Meall na Clachan and then to Loch Bhac. I'd been there before but approaching it from the opposite direction.
We then headed through an old public right of way through the wood (where we spotted wild orchids amongst other flowers) and then across the fields to Strathtummel where I spotted some fungi - possibly a puff ball.
I really enjoyed the walk - it is always interested to make connection between different places - essentially you could combine the last part of today's walk with our earlier one and walk across the moor between Starthtummel and Struan in a few miles compared to over sixteen by road.
