Leon Day (USA)

SPOILER For those offended by any reference to Christmas before Advent look away now!

Today is exactly 6 months until Christmas Day. In the USA it is marked as Leon day - Noel backwards! ( I learnt this random fact on early morning BBC Radio.

I also listened to a Radio interview with our PM in Kigali. He was unconvincing and it crossed my mind as to the wisdom of his being out of the country for so long as Tory turmoil seems to rain incessantly at home

As part of my professional life I have made countless speeches, presentations and impromptu addresses to gatherings small and large.

Today I prepped a vlog for a presentation I have been asked to post next week in Budapest. While I know what I want to say, as I watch back each attempt, my UHD screen is unforgiving. In other words, I don’t recognise the ancient character struggling to look presentable on modern tech! Maybe a podcast would be a safer medium?

This afternoon we went to our excellent village library to borrow books and chat with local councillors holding a monthly surgery.

Our walk home coincided with the heritage steam train - one of the few trains running in the U.K. today due to another national rail strike.
