Race for Life
Our daughter ran 10k today at The Race for Life at Cheltenham racecourse. She did really well despite the sharp shower that soaked and then “froze” our group of family supporters waiting at the finish line. This event is part of her training programme for the Cheltenham Half Marathon here in September.
I had a four hour voluntary shift this afternoon and was surprised to find 23 degrees and bright summer sunshine when I emerged at 1645.
Our 9 year old Cub Scout returned from his first two night’s camping. Those initial steps towards adult “fledging” had been taken. His 7 year old brother had missed him.
As I drove home with the 3rd Test Match commentary describing a potential series win for England over NZ I was surprised to see a fox catapult itself from one hedge to the other and narrowly missed oncoming traffic on both carriageways.
We will watch some of the Highlights of Glastonbury from the comfort of our sofa this evening.
