Gifts

I was up at, 5am, and unable to sleep busied myself spring cleaning the small loo! Other household chores followed and then I drifted. Not sure what to do! Not knowing what time Max and Rory were coming, I didn’t walk dog or start any gardening. They arrived at 2pm with the sweet patio rose on the right in the picture together with a bag full of essentials - milk, eggs, ready meals, fruit and indulgent desserts. It s along time since I’ve seen them, but we chatted easily and the 2.5 hours went quickly. 

As they left, Alf rang and asked me round for a cup of tea. He’s so sweet, and desperately sad about B. As I left my phone pinged with a message from a former pre Covid colleague and her husband saying they had called and left a gift on the doorstep, the rose on the left. I messaged back and she said they had gone for a walk on the beach and would call in on their way back. It was 8pm before they left. I have to confess it was a tad too long really, having already socialised since 2pm, but definitely better than spending all day on my own! 

I popped a ready meal in the microwave, then tidied up, FaceTimed with Daniel and Peter (Covid negative today)  called Liam and hey presto time for bed!
