Le chateau de Biron

Beaumont, where we are living appears to be in the middle of nowhere.  When we left the motorway yesterday we had to drive for more than an hour along very twisty country roads, but apparently the area is very well populated with small towns no more that 15 minutes drive from each other - or in our case 25 minutes.  The owners of the B and B have been very busy during the year when they more or less were closed and have spent part of their time researching the surrounding area and gathering tourist leaflets and information on the attractions that visitors may find interesting.  The castle of Biron, near to Monpazier, is one of them.  Unfortunately when we arrived, the castle was closed for the day, but the village itself was very interesting and we had lovely coffee and cake.
