By the time I had been round the cattle and came in at 7.30 it was obvious that Kev was going to be a no show ,so hitched up the dung spreader and spent the morning mucking out a couple of sheds that still have some cattle in them .
Wanted to get it spread as Liam was busy ploughing the field they spread the midden on on Monday . It is going into a fodder rape/ stubble turnips mix which we graze off with pregnant ewes in Jan/ Feb next year. There was a van in to deliver the seed at lunchtime,but don't usually sow it until mid July
Had to drop Junior at the castle again as he has another shift today,then back to collect Littlemiss from the train .
Then we headed off to Haddington to collect a new set of blades for my mower. The usual dealership at Macmerry has lost that franchise to Henderson's at Haddington, so a bit further away to travel .
Littlemiss wanted to go for chips to the van at Longniddrie beach on the way home ,but when we got there it wasn't there ! After a quick search on her phone she discovered that they don't start being there during the day until 1 st July. So instead we came home via Prestonpans and stopped at their chippy there. Fish suppers,salt and sauce,can't beat it !
