People Play

I nipped down to Trinity Buoy Wharf on the river at Canning Town. There's usually something going on there and today was no exception. These sculptures were being shifted in to place by a fork lift truck while a few people were considering the distribution of the art works. 

One of the group was wearing a paint stained shirt and so I deduced that she was the artist. I established that she is Alice Irwin and specialises in creating these playful figures. She had a major show at the Piece gallery in Halifax a couple of years back.

Apparently Alice anticipates that this exhibition will be in place on the riverside for about a year. Worth a visit.
