Clanranald Stone

A stone carved in the late 16th century that has a fair history, ancient and modern.
It was stolen from its place in Howmore graveyard in 1990. Howver in 1995 when the Canadian parents of a son who had died aged 33 were clearing his flat in Euston, they came across it. This was the resurrection of the curse to the effect that anyone desecrating a grave site will be cursed and meet an untimely death.
It now sits safely in Kildonnan Museum on South Uist.
