Life through the lens...

Moth.

Unfortunately I somehow managed to delete 90% of today’s photos while uploading from the camera sim card onto my iPad.
Deleted both on iPad and SIM card, and can’t retrieve them.

So this is one of several I took of the Burnet Moths which were enjoying the wild scabious flowers.
The extra is of two butterflies who preferred the blackberry flowers.
I think the large one is a Coma or may be a Fritillary , ( it was quite orange) the smaller one I think is a Purple Hairstreak. Not sure about these, but I hope someone will correct me, as there are some very knowledgeable blippers out there.

Today was our walk with the Pudsey Ramblers in Brockadale.
Only 6 of us, but we actually thought it may be just Mr C and myself so we were glad 4 others turned up.
We started from the little village of Kirk Smeaton, just off the A1. It is a new area for our group, who don’t mind traveling 50 miles up into the Dales, but obviously not keen on 25/30 in the other direction.
However the six of us had a lovely day, as we could amble along enjoying the beautiful little valley, and stop to admire and photograph the wild flowers and butterflies etc.
Back in the village we sat and ate our picnics on the benches surrounded by a beautiful communal garden by the church.
Then it was to the pub where we enjoyed a glass of shandy, beer, or orange juice.
It was a warm day, with the occasional glimpse of sunshine. Perfect for walking.
A good walk, with excellent company, and enjoyed by us all. Just 4 miles, which was a nice change from last weeks 8 plus.

Home now having a cuppa. It’s started raining, so no watering, thank goodness.
