Launching the Magnificent 11
A great day for blips. The official launch of the Magnificent 11 in the Southside and the Glasgow Ramblers first dog friendly evening walk following the first stage of the Mag11 around Linn Park.
There was a good turnout on the Cathkin Braes and Cameron McNeish “cut the ribbon” by hammering in a Magnificent 11 way mark pole on Cathkin Braes highest point.
This is the culmination of years of hard work by Gary Linstead Countryside Ranger for Glasgow City Council, and more recently the involvement of Glasgow Ramblers. The result is an eleven mile walk that connects green spaces across the Southside, 90% off road.
The sun shone for the evening dog walk which which was more popular than I had anticipated. We had three adorable dogs and rather more walkers who liked the idea of an evening stroll in good company. Worth an extra, especially Alfie who likes water.
