Snapshot of life in rural Bangladesh
IMPACT Bangladesh held an art competition for school children in Meherpur, as part of their campaign to promote clean water, sanitation and good hygiene in the District.
This student has taken all the right messages on board. In his painting a parent instructs a child to use the toilet (rather than defecating in the open). Another child washes their hands, thereby maintaing good hygiene. And a green, arsenic-free tubewell is used for drawing drinking water, rather than a red well, which signifies contamination.
