Friends to cheer us

Thank you all for your very kind and thoughtful comments yesterday after Mum's fall. We did appreciate your good wishes.

I was all for cancelling today's visit from Barbara and Joyce because I thought it was too much for Mum to be chatting all afternoon. She was determined to go ahead and said they would cheer her.

We had a lovely afternoon with them. They came through from Sunderland. Barbara brought a few examples of her embroidery with her. She is very talented. Of course, Mum was in her element.

I don't think you can really tell that anything is wrong from the photograph. They are griping tight and holding Mum upright!!

It would be fair to say that she was aching and wobbly this evening, but not too bad considering the fall. 

Margret (next door) called in with cooked gooseberries. She has a large crop this year.
