Thistles

I went in search of some wildlife this afternoon.  Outside Lidl there are a few Buddleia bushes so I was hopeful of seeing butterflies and bees. Not a butterfly to be seen and only a very few tiny bees, but it's windy again so perhaps that's what's keeping them at bay?  

I then went to visit a  little lake and stretch of our River Tern owned by the SevenTrent Water. Board .  They have a sub-station there and used to mow the areas round the lake but for the last two or three years they haven't so I had to be the intrepid explorer and push my way through, high thistles, very stingy nettles, sticky grass and more, but I did manage to get a shot of the lake and a Damsel or two.

Mr HB has been to Silverstone for the qualifying of the British Grand Prix there ......  viewed from the sofa!
